Intensive Outpatient Therapy
Sanctuary: A Healing Place offers customized intensive outpatient programs (IOP) that are designed for individuals, couples, and/or families wanting a more intensive program of therapy. Typically an intensive outpatient program lasts from one to two weeks and involves a team of professionals providing six to eight hours of treatment per day.

People come to Sanctuary for an IOP for a variety of reasons:
1. Someone may have just finished inpatient treatment and needs continued work and support as they re-enter life. We work with a number of inpatient facilities to coordinate the "next step" for individuals and their families seeking to stay grounded in healing and recovery.

2. Individuals, couples, and families may be working with a therapist locally or in other parts of the country, and they may be referred to work through issues that were brought up in treatment and need further intense focus.

3. Someone may elect to go through an IOP who has never been in therapy but wants more of an immersion process due to personal preference or time constraints.

4. When someone is in crisis, they may need to get help because they are no longer functioning well or they are at risk of losing something or someone important to them. An IOP provides a treatment option that can help them work through the crisis in a relatively short amount of time.
